Together for European Macedonia
I phase
Project “Together for European Macedonia” offered non-formal education: computer courses and courses of English language to the children with different ethnical background, age 11-14 learning in the elementary school Cvetan Dimov in Skopje, Macedonia.
Activities are being organized in bilingual groups (Macedonian/Albanian), that raised participants knowledge of English and IT, built their skills and abilities, and finally promoted peaceful behaviour among youngsters.
About 180 users received increased knowledge of English language and about 150 users received free of charge computer courses.
For pupils that achieved best results in English Language, in early November 2007 was organized a camp entitled ‘Knowledge is a power’.
II phase
BCYF received extension funds for implementing the second phase of this project. The program will be implemented in Skopje, municipality of Chair in following elementary schools “Rajko Zinzifov”, “Vasil Glavinov” and “Jane Sandanski” and will offer English language and computer’s training, safe and tolerant sport activities and promotion of tolerant intercultural dialogue. The important thing is that municipality of Chair is giving full support to BCYF for implementing such projects at the schools.
About 375 users is expected to receive increased knowledge of English language, about 180 users is expected to receive free of charge computer courses, about 50 users is expected to receive training on tolerant behavior during sports activities and about 20 teachers will receive free of charge course of Albanian language.
With this kind of project BCYF wants to contribute to better education of Macedonian youth and to ensure economic development in the further stage, peace, human understanding and prosperity for the future. The need for communication with other young people from the Europe is increasing daily and these youngsters need urgent support for additional language education and computer skills.
